About Me

My name is Sparky.   Born 9/18/2012 @ Point and Spring Kennels.

I am very very smart.  I will be 10 weeks on the the 2nd. of December, 2012.

Mom and Dad are so proud of me.  I already go to the door to stare at the leash when I want to go out for potty and if they don't notice that, I bark.  We only had 4 little wee wee accidents since I have been in my new home and that was only the first few days until we "all" got organized.

It is very hard to train humans!

Anyway, I love my large cage for sleepy time "denning" only at night.  It is very comfy and I get a good night's rest.

My nose is constantly to the ground.  My fur-mom says I am going to be good at "tracking" and I am looking forward to it!

Stay tuned for further updates on my growth, education and living life here in Georgia!

Hubby has been buying up turkeys on sale so one of them had to be defrosted so he can make chunky turkey soup tomorrow. We have a large rubbermaid container which is reserved for washing greens and other food stuffs. So, I put the turkey in the container in the bathtub and filled it with cold water so it could thaw out somewhat over night.

Well; Sparky wasn't sure he liked that turkey in "his" bathtub (where he gets his weekly bath) and he kept on running in there all day to "check" on it. I fully expected to find him dragging the turkey about the house any time. Gratefully, he did not do that.

But, this morning as I was making way in the fridge for the turkey, I had to put about 5 bags of apples on the counter and 2 large bags of broccoli on the floor as I was out of counter room.

I turned my back to go get the turkey and Lo!!! There was Sparky with a huge piece of brocolli in his mouth just chomping away. Ha, ha!! He knows what is "good" for him but he is on Sneaky Spaniel for sure!!

What would your fur-kid steal if given the chance?

Our veterinarian wanted to know where we got out pup. Of course we furnished all necessary information. Dr. McKnight says,"Sparky is one fine pup." We agree; the breeding is exemplary. It "really" is.

I will be 11 weeks on 12/9/12 So far I have the puppy recall down pat provided I don't get side-tracked and if I do, mom calls a halt to all further recalls which means no "treats"; Wah!!! She says I lose my concentration quickly because I am only a puppy and I believe she is right.

But, I am learning other things also. I have learned how to get a tummy rub anytime I want. I also have learned how to "fetch" and "bring" the tennis ball and the new one is "go out" meaning move forward. I am usually pretty good at this one.

Also, when I bark, mom moves her hand funny and says, "Good Speak", "Good Speak"..............................;whatever that means!!!

We go to the vet's this coming Monday for more shots and "stuff." I have doubled in size. Still self-feeding on Healthy Morsels; I sure do like those. My dad hand feeds me sometimes so I can bond w/him!

Oh, yeah.............................mom got the leather tracking pieces out. I "think" she is going to wear them on her for a while to get ready for some scent tracking. I am excited!

I forgot to say that I did puppy recalls today with fur-mom and fur-dad! I got my first taste of a puppy milkbone as a reward. We only did this 4 times, 2 times each way because I am just a little guy!

But, boy do I like those milkbones! I wonder if I will graduate to a whole one as they would only give me little bits at a time and "only" if I came straight on!

I think these people are going to give me trouble; that's what I think!
